Trois-Rivières, November 18, 2019 - The entire Trois-Rivières Events Corporation team is pleased to officially announce the presentation of the sixth opus of the Cirque du Soleil Tribute Series for the summer of 2020. This show created and produced by Cirque du Soleil Events + Experiences will pay tribute to the famous female voices of Quebec. Tickets will go on sale November 22, 2019.
"Show after show, the Tribute Series has become an incredibly creative platform for our teams and has brought together the people of Trois-Rivières and their visitors, of all ages and from all over the world, around our musical heritage", explains Yasmine Khalil, Chief Executive Officer, Executive Production, Cirque du Soleil and President, Cirque du Soleil Events + Experiences. "In 2020, the Tribute Series changes its register to combine the feminine plural with a celebration of the great female voices of Quebec. Unheard in Trois-Rivières, the songs will be performed live on stage in this wonderful setting that is the Cogeco Amphitheater. "
With a more immersive scenography and singers who will perform on stage the most known tunes of the Queens of Quebec famous songs, this musical fable with pop, soul, hip-hop and orchestral accents will certainly seduce a very large audience.
For this new production, Daniel Fortin, Vice President, Creation, Cirque du Soleil, is surrounded by Lydia Bouchard, a multidisciplinary artist who is in turn dancer, choreographer, director and the master of the dance show, Révolution. She will put all her passion in order to deliver an optimistic and glamorous show. At the musical direction and arrangements, Jean-Phi Goncalves, accustomed to the tribute series, will give a new era to the great songs of our Quebec female idols.
"For the past six years, the Cirque du Soleil Tribute Series have established themselves in the hearts of music and entertainment enthusiasts. It is now a tradition for many spectators to visit us, year after year. We are convinced that this sixth opus will charm a large customer base by celebrating female songwriters who have changed the face of Quebec’s music industry." says Roger Picard, president of the Corporation des Évènements.
