Ferland Symphonique offers a moving journey into the heart of the timeless work of Jean-Pierre Ferland, one of the greatest singer-songwriters in Quebec music. Carried by Blair Thomson’s rich orchestral arrangements and conducted by Alain Trudel, this performance highlights all the power and beauty of a repertoire that has left its mark on several generations.
Featuring the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières, the concert is first and foremost a symphonic and instrumental experience, with the orchestra taking center stage. Ferland’s greatest works are reimagined through majestic arrangements that reveal new nuances and the full richness of his musical world.
Throughout the evening, Laurence Jalbert, Catherine Major, Julie-Anne Saumur, and Clement Jacques will punctuate this orchestral tapestry by lending their voices to carefully selected songs. Their performances blend into the overall show as moments where song and symphony meet, without ever diverting attention from the power of the orchestra and the arrangements.
From Je reviens chez nous to Le petit roi, including T’es belle, Écoute pas ça, and many other classics, Ferland Symphonique celebrates the legacy of an exceptional artist and offers the audience a unique way to rediscover these iconic works. A magnificent musical experience, imbued with emotion, poetry, and collective memory.
