Laurence Jalbert, Catherine Major, Julie-Anne Saumur, and Clement Jacques will join the symphonic celebration dedicated to the work of Jean-Pierre Ferland
Trois-Rivières, October 26, 2026 – Oziko will present Ferland Symphonique, a show dedicated to the work of Jean-Pierre Ferland, on September 23, 2027, at the Amphithéâtre Cogeco in Trois-Rivières. For the occasion, the Trois-Rivières Symphony Orchestra will bring the artist’s songs to life in an exceptional setting along the St. Lawrence River.
The announcement also reveals, for the first time, the four artists who will perform in all the Ferland Symphonique shows: Clement Jacques, with his mellow tone; Laurence Jalbert, with her warm and powerful voice; Catherine Major, known for her sensitive and intense interpretations; and Julie-Anne Saumur, whose voice is intimately linked to the world of Jean-Pierre Ferland.
Brought together around a shared repertoire, the four performers will lend their voices to certain songs, while the orchestra remains at the heart of this primarily instrumental symphonic reinterpretation. The bulk of the show will thus be carried by Blair Thomson’s orchestral arrangements, under the baton of conductor Alain Trudel.
This performance in Trois-Rivières will highlight the full richness of Jean-Pierre Ferland’s work thanks to the participation of the Trois-Rivières Symphony Orchestra, at the heart of a grand musical experience.
A body of work that spans generations
An exceptional songwriter, composer, and performer, Jean-Pierre Ferland has left behind a body of work that blends poetry, melody, and a remarkable ability to connect with the general public. From Je reviens chez nous to Écoute pas ça, including Le petit roi, T’es belle, and so many others, his songs have accompanied several generations and continue to resonate with new audiences.
With Ferland Symphonique, part of the Prestige & Patrimoine series, Oziko aims to help audiences rediscover this body of work in all its musical richness, allowing the orchestral arrangements to reveal new dimensions to songs deeply rooted in the Quebec imagination. This reinterpretation helps bring to life, in a fresh way, the legacy of an artist whose songwriting, melodies, and vision have left a lasting mark on Quebec music.
